KMT (Kumul Marine Terminal 2005–January 1 2022) — Joined in 2005; became a solo pilot after two observation runs; maintains pilotage records for KMT.
Kumul Pilot/Loading/Mooring Master (2005–2021) — Trainer for PNG assistant Mooring Masters (2015–2022).
Additional maritime experience — Former Navy diver; served 10 years on product oil tankers; currently serving on offshore supply vessels.
FSO Experience. 1999-2000 Inclusive service on FSO Dampier Spirit situated off Dampier Western Australia.
Qualifications
Master Class 1 (AMSA) — Valid until 2030.

Expected duration is two years or longer if required.

Career Overview
2009–2013: Officer on container ships and LPG tankers.
2013–2015: Chief Officer on Tidewater offshore supply vessels at Kumul Marine Terminal (KMT). Mentored by Capt. Jione to pursue Master Class 1 for future Pilot/Mooring Master roles.
2015: Achieved Master Class 1 (NZ) and returned to KMT on a supply vessel.
2016–2022:NMSA Class 1 Pilot serving Port Moresby and multiple PNG ports.
2020: Recommended by Capt. Fuata Jione to Oilsearch senior management as an emergency pilot for KMT during COVID border closures.
2024 (May–June): Completed a major ocean tow from Yamba (NSW) to Auckland (NZ), then a return tow to Sydney.
2024 (July): Pilotage observer in the Ports of Auckland and Tauranga, New Zealand.

Master Class 1 (NZ) with Oil Tanker Endorsement valid until 2026. Completed the revalidation of M1 (NZ) March 2026 and awaiting reissue of M! (NZ) by April 2026.

Extensive maritime career spanning offshore operations, tanker service, FPSO leadership, and pilotage.
Progressive responsibility from cadet training to Master, Commissioning Master, and later Pilot/Loading/Mooring Master.
Education & Early Career (1980–1988)
1980–1984: Diploma in Nautical Science, Australian Maritime College; first foreign student admitted. Cadet with Boral Gas Ltd (Sydney) and ASP Melbourne. Diploma program funded by Fiji Government first six months and AUS Aid thereafter. Admitted as member of the AMOU as a cadet.
1984–1988: Deck Officer service with ASP on crude/product tankers, LPG carriers, and sulphuric acid carriers.
FPSO & Offshore Leadership (1988–2000)
1988–2000: FPSO operations from Second Mate to Master.
1991–1995: Member of the Griffin Field Oil & Gas Project team; Commissioning Master for FPSO Griffin Venture off Karratha at age 31.

2003–2022: Pilot, Loading Master, and Mooring Master at Kumul Marine Terminal, Gulf of Papua. SPM installation exporting crude oil condensate from a Platform non producing but acts a pressure reducing loading facility to the SPM.
Periodic service as Relieving Terminal Marine Superintendent.
